Casinos will be introduced in long haul flights

Casinos to be introduced for long haul flights?
Casinos to be introduced for long haul flights?

An old idea is back on tracks, for casinos on long distance flights. Currently there is no airline or any developer able to build this project.
Two French designers believe that this plan can be now implemented. They have an idea to create small room in the airplanes where casino games will be place along with a full liquor bar, in-flight movies and all these will be offered while the passengers will be seating in spacious seats.  Frederique Houssard, the founder of Designescence said: “We’re trying to bring back the glamour of the 50′s and 60′s a little bit,the kind you see in the James Bond movies.” Houssard and his partner, AirJet Designs’ Jean-Pierre Alfano, believe that this project can really implemented. Despite the fact that there is no formal agreement with any airline they believe that soon this project can be a success. Alfano said: “When you’re on a 14-hour flight, even when you’re in business class, all you can really do is eat, drink, watch movies, and sleep, the Casino Jet Lounge isn’t just a bar or entertainment idea. We see it as a social space.”
The issues for this idea are the below:
Currently online gambling is available to the passengers from their mobile devices through the Internet Access that all airlines are offering in the long distance flights. So for make this idea to work the airlines should limit the internet access to the passengers.
A second issue is the space that it is required in he airplane. This issue can be solved without reducing the number of seat in the plane by creating this social lounge down near to the bottom of the plane, where the cargo is stored.
The third and most complex issue is the Legal troubles that can be caused from the different regulations that every country has about the casino. For example: In the UK, where online gambling is regulated, the flight casinos could take off. A second example: In the US, online gambling is not yet regulated, and gambling on an aircraft has been banned in the country since 1994.
If the above issues finally will be resolved than the project will definitely find a lot of potential byers.

Pokies in New Zealand

According to the new government of New Zealand the money that they were spent on pokies last year was down by more than 3 per cent.
Also in New Zealand and more specific in Kiwi pubs and clubs the number of the pokies machines were also devreased from 18,133 to 17,670 according to the Department of Internal Affairs. In Gaming machines the expenditure declined from $866.8m to $839.7m last year. This is a decline at around 3% compared with 2012. And also, 29 gaming venues were closed down compared to 2012.
The EMS system(Electronic Monitoring System) which is fully operational since 2007 is a system which provides full tracking and monitoring in the amount of money that players are spending in pokies machines which are not situated inside casinos, and ensures “the integrity of games and the accurate accounting of money”. It is clear that the gaming industry is suffering a bit in New Zealand and the reasons cannot be identified at the moment. Probably the financial crisis has reached our pockets but only time will show whether it will be a recovery soon.

Bar makes more money on pokies, not alcohol!

bar pokiesThe slot machine licence was taken away from a South Auckland bar last week. The reason? Because the bar’s profits from gambling were much higher than the profits from alcohol! The gambling commission decided that the gambling section of the bar should be closed because the bar had turned to be something like a casino rather than a real bar.Of course after that, KTJ Investments wich is the venue’s operator, appealed to the decision. The decision which was released yesterday said that the bar’s viability would be doubtful without the profits from the agreement with the gabling operator, the Lion Foundation. The Commission said that every time their representatives went to the bar , the gamblers were much more than the patrons! The bar had the reputation of a ‘pokies’ paradise. The general manager of regulatory services Maarten Quivooy said that Internal Affairs made a lengthy and deep investigation that affected the commission ‘s decision. He also revealed that government will strike hard those who’ll disobey their decisions.
